The assistant club controller will work closely with operational leaders on financial, business, and internal control matters, and labor-related costs.

Essential Functions:

Participate in directing and ensuring state-of-art accounting/finance-related solutions that involve software applications and related hardware for all administrative/operational functions.

Maintain a current and accurate version of the project's business plan.

Month-end accounting closing/reporting.

Generate weekly/monthly reports to stakeholders along with supervising financial statements.

Create internal auditing programs/routines to ensure records are accurately maintained while consistently following policies and procedures to align with the department's annual external audit exercise.

Participate in weekly meetings including Business Partner Review, finance committee, and monthly partner calls.

Identify & implement opportunities for expense control.

Establish new policies and procedures processes, and documentation, and ensure compliance.

Enforce compliance with established procedures for contracts, POs, limits of authority, and expense reimbursement.

Provide exceptional service and communication at all times with members/guests and team members.

Coordinate with or assist other departments as needed.

Any other duties as assigned.


Competencies for Success in the Role

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Finance/Accounting, 4-5 years of job-related skill/knowledge, and a CPA license preferred.

Problem Solving/Analysis.

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Project, Excel, and Outlook.

Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.

Ability to listen and respond to multiple players, providing feedback and recommendations as required to most effectively meet project needs.

Ability to work with a diverse staff.

Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.

Prior working knowledge of accounting applications including Timberline & TEI POS highly preferred.
